Khafizzoda N.

Abstract

The article examines the methodological aspects of assessing the industrial potential of a regional economy. It presents the primary methods and indicators for determining industrial potential, as well as the principles governing the selection and application of analytical methods. The study substantiates the need to develop precise, comprehensive methods for assessing the production capabilities and industrial resources of regions—methods that are adapted to specific regional characteristics. Methods of systems, comparative, statistical, and ratio analysis were employed, with the region's production, resource, and economic indicators serving as the basis for assessing its industrial potential. To determine the level of utilization, a comprehensive approach was applied to analyze both the potential actually in use and that remaining untapped, while also accounting for the impact of economic, social, and natural factors on the region's production capabilities. It is demonstrated that a comprehensive assessment of industrial potential is crucial for identifying untapped reserves, enhancing production efficiency, and determining priority areas for regional industrial development. The material presented provides a foundation for improving strategic planning mechanisms, ensuring the efficient use of production capacities, and making informed decisions at the regional level.
