Abstract

The article analyzes the increasing influence of the values and interests of older people on the formation of the global political process in the context of global demographic aging. It is emphasized that this trend leads to a change in traditional models of international relations and requires a rethinking of the role of older citizens as active participants in world politics. The study focuses on identifying and systematizing specific value orientations and interests inherent in older people (peace, security, social justice, preservation of cultural heritage and the environment), as well as on analyzing the channels and mechanisms of their influence on foreign policy decision-making and the formation of the global agenda. Particular attention is paid to the role of older people in shaping public opinion, participation in elections (electoral behavior), the activities of non-governmental organizations and international institutions. The opportunities and challenges associated with the increasing role of older people in world politics are considered, including the problem of ageism and the need to ensure their full participation in political life. Recommendations are offered for taking into account the values and interests of older people in the development of foreign policy strategies and the formation of international policy.
