Abstract

The article, using the example of Xi'an’s University of Foreign languages provides an in-depth analysis of changes in the teaching of disciplines and in the construction of academic departments, in the training of qualified professionals, in conducting academic research and in the provision of social services, It also discusses how foreign language institutions can cope with the changes dictated by the times, implement comprehensive reforms and promote high-quality reform in foreign language disciplines. It is noted that under the powerful influence of dramatic changes in the global landscape and the challenges of artificial intelligence, disciplines related to the study of foreign languages are facing unprecedented changes. There is a broad consensus in the academic community regarding the urgent need for reforms and changes in the teaching of foreign language disciplines, which is an imperative of the time. It is stated that throughout the long-term reform of higher education, starting with openness, introducing changes and reforming colleges and universities of foreign languages, the introduced changes are mainly focused on three areas: serving the National Strategy, taking into account the specifics of the region and industry, as well as strengthening the connotation of the profession.
