The article analyzes ways to implement the functions of the state as the basis for strengthening the sovereignty of the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with modern scientific ideas in the field of law and theory of state.It is noted that given the increasing global threats and dangers, the implementation of state functions is important and is one of the key components of ensuring and protecting the sovereignty of the state. The points of view of foreign and domestic scientists on the concepts, types and forms of implementation of state functions and their role in strengthening state sovereignty are considered. It is emphasized that it is more appropriate to divide the functions of the state into internal, external and mixed.The mixed functions of the state include defense, environmental and information. It is noted that each function of the state is implemented using legal (lawmaking, enforcement of law, legal protection) and organizational forms (preparation of draft laws, convening sessions of parliament, organizing voting, etc.).
