The article dwells on the role of the World Trade Organization in the development of Tajikistan's economy. It is noted that membership in the WTO has become a major step for the Republic of Tajikistan in building a competitive international economy. Joining to this influential international organization will contribute to improvement of business environment, development of the country's export potential, competitiveness of domestic industry in business environment, expansion of public-private partnerships, harmonization of the country's legislation in pursuance with international standards.A comprehensive study of the process of Tajikistan Republic entry into to the World Trade Organization has been conducted, and the impact of this organization on trade and economic relations of the country and its position in the tariff and customs regulation of foreign economic activity has been identified.
