In the scientific article the system of legal methods of the activity of the founder of the Hanafi law school referring to the Sunni branch of Islam - Imam al-Azam Abukhanifa in the field of theory and practice of forensic power is studied. In this direction, the essence and peculiarities of the following specific methods of the activity of the Hanafi law school founder are explored: paradise, interactivity, hypothetics, istekhsan and shariat trick, the peculiarity of Abuhanifa’s methodology in terms of solving alleged legal incidents is noted, the role and value of istekhsan in resolving hypothetical character of legal situations is comprehended. The features of Abukhanifa’s legal approach to methodological resolution of difficult legal and judicial situations are disclosed, the specificity of the Hanafi school of law in the application of rational and liberal methods for solving theoretical and applied problems of Muslim law, justice and judicial legality are deeply canvassed.
