FEATURES OF DIGITALIZATION OF CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES: ENSURING ECONOMIC SECURITY AND BUSINESS CLIMATE

Abstract

In order to analyze the specifics of digitalization of customs functions, the impact of the introduction of digital technologies and entry into the digital space on the activities of customs authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan is considered. The key trends demonstrating the impact of digital technologies on economic security and improving the business climate in the country are also highlighted. An assessment is given of the main areas of digitalization of customs functions: digitalization of customs control processes and goods clearance, the use of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI). Particular attention is paid to the implementation of the Unified Automated Information System (UAIS) of customs authorities, the “single window” system, and the introduction of the global ASICUDA system (including the passenger declaration module). The advantages of digitalization of customs functions are presented and a set of recommendations for digitalization of customs functions, ensuring economic security and improving the business climate in the Republic of Tajikistan is proposed.
