Author (s)

Obidov D.S.

Abstract

This article examines the essence and nature of the functions performed by pre-state institutions of power in primitive society. It examines in detail the formation and development of primitive society, the system of power and governance in primitive society, and the nature and types of functions inherent in the institutions of power and governance in the tribal community. This article attempts to uncover and understand the most ancient functions performed by government institutions during that era, particularly the functions of waging war and administering justice. It substantiates the idea that the fundamental foundations of power and governance, and the functions performed by this power, were laid in the prehistoric era. The study presents the thesis of a unique mechanism for the implementation and exercise of institutional functions in primitive society, closely linked to the mythological and collective consciousness of the people of that era, the Neolithic Revolution, and the important role of the social-normative regulation system in this process. The continuity of these functions with the early state is emphasized.
