MODERNIZATION OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN THE CONTEXT OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

Eshmatov Sh.A.

Abstract

The article examines the impact of economic digitalization on the labor market and higher education in Tajikistan. It notes that, despite economic development, a structural imbalance persists in the labor market: a shortage of skilled personnel alongside a surplus of labor resources. It is noted that the transition to a digital economy requires new skills and competencies from workers, as it entails a reduction in low- and medium-skilled jobs and the emergence of new, high-paying professions. It is emphasized that the higher education system plays a crucial role in training specialists with digital competencies. Data is presented regarding Tajikistan’s global rankings in terms of education levels and expenditure compared to other countries. An economic-mathematical model is used to analyze the relationship between the share of personnel with higher education and macroeconomic indicators: GDP growth rates and real wages. It is found that the share of specialists with higher education is most sensitive to GDP growth dynamics. Systemic measures are proposed to modernize the higher education system: in-depth study of digital disciplines, integration of research and practice, and the creation of conditions for the continuous professional development of personnel.
