The article examines methodological approaches to assessing the level of digitalization in the regional economy. It presents a comparative study of the experience of neighboring and developed countries in assessing regional economic digitalization levels and analyzes the views of researchers on this topic. The theoretical and methodological foundations for assessing the level of digitalization are examined, based on existing criteria and methods employed by foreign organizations. Key issues arising during the process of regional digital transformation are identified, and their impact on the assessment of the digitalization level is determined. The study analyzes indicators characterizing the level of digitalization in the operations of commercial organizations, the degree of digitalization among the population, and the level of digitalization in the activities of government bodies. To assess the level of digitalization, indicators of the region's digital economy have been grouped, and a corresponding calculation formula has been proposed.
