The article analyzes the concept of "digital extremism", which is one of the serious threats to the national security of the Republic of Tajikistan and all countries in the world. It is established that, despite the measures taken, the dynamics of extremist and terrorist crimes in the country shows a significant increase in such cases in recent years. The need to develop an official definition of the concept of "digital extremism" in national legislation and to strengthen legal and technical mechanisms to counter this threat is emphasized. In addition, the main forms of digital extremism are examined in detail: the creation of hidden networks, digital propaganda, recruitment and cyber attacks. It is also proposed to develop a new National Strategy for Countering Digital Extremism based on a deep analysis of the current situation.
