Environmental protection remains not only one of the most important scientific problems of our time, but also a pressing practical task.An important component of solving this problem is providing a favorable environment for the life and functioning of humans and other living organisms in the natural environment.However, the implementation of this task in the system of environmental relations is of no importance without its administrative and legal regulation.The article examines the general theoretical foundations of administrative liability for violation of legislation in the field of environmental protection, taking into account the opinions of domestic and foreign researchers.It was noted that the legal basis for administrative liability for violations of the legislation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of environmental protection does not fully comply with the general principles of establishing legal liability.It is substantiated that in this regard there is an objective need to strengthen the role of administrative responsibility for violations of legislation in this area.
