This article examines the role of investment mechanisms as a key factor in stimulating and developing the economy of the Sughd region. It also explores the nature and importance of investment mechanisms in ensuring sustainable regional economic development. The structural elements of investments, their functions and contribution to the activation of the regional economy are analyzed. Based on the conducted analysis, the state of development of the investment mechanism in the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan was determined. Factors influencing the region's investment environment were examined. The obtained results show that an effective investment mechanism can act as a system-forming factor for activating the regional economy, strengthening structural transformations and increasing its competitiveness. Practical recommendations have been proposed to strengthen investment activity in the Sughd region's economy. These proposals can be used in implementing regional investment policy.
