ELECTORAL SYSTEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN: ORIGIN, FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS

Abstract

The article examines the origin, formation and prospects for the development of the electoral system of the Republic of Tajikistan. Through the analysis of legal acts and political processes, the origins of the electoral system are examined and the importance of its formation is noted. The features of the electoral system of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Soviet era and the advantages during the years of independence are revealed. The basic principles of organizing the elections of the president and deputies of the Machlisi Namoyandagon have been studied. The majoritarian and proportional electoral system is considered as the main way of organizing state power. In order to improve the political structure, strengthen the foundations of democracy in the country, based on the analysis of political theories and using the comparative historical method, ways to improve the electoral system of the Republic of Tajikistan and prospects for its development are determined. The need to improve the electoral system as the main way to legitimize power and implement the will of the majority is also emphasized. Methods for organizing transparent elections are proposed in order to strengthen the foundations of democracy and shape the political thinking of the people.
