The article contains a lapidary analysis of the methodology
(choice of methods and techniques) for conducting research
within the framework of their final qualifying works (hereinafter
referred to as the FQR) of master's graduates of the Academy of
Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia
in correspondence courses. The analysis is carried out according to
2 parameters: 1) the number and application of applied methods
in each WRC; 2) the adequacy of the set of methodological tools
for the study of political and managerial problems. A number of
problematic issues have been identified regarding the practice
of choosing and applying a set of methods when conducting
applied research of a political and managerial nature. In
conclusion, some of the author’s proposals are formulated to
diversify the methodology for conducting research by
graduates of 2025 and to enhance the skills of using a group of
special political science methods. The article was prepared as
part of the 15th Day of Scientific Creativity, held in April 2024
at the Academy of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergency
Situations of Russia.
