The article examines the effectiveness of the implementation of national migration policy, evaluates the use of similar experience of the leading countries of the world and possible ways to strengthen the international prestige of the country. It is noted that migration, affecting a certain territory and border zones of the state, necessitates political and legal regulation of migration processes and the creation of competent authorities and institutions. The socio-economic conditions that arose in Tajikistan with the acquisition of political independence, population growth and the transformation of labor migration into a pattern of socio-economic life created the need to develop an appropriate state migration policy. Management of migration processes is characterized as a set of practical actions determined by the need to protect the rights and interests of migrants and solve the problems of returning labor migrants, aimed at stimulating the migration process or limiting it in directions that meet the current and strategic needs of the state, as well as its socio-economic development in contradictory process of globalization.
