The article dwells on the modern challenges for the European Union which are reflected: the migration crisis and the split in values, pushing the EU member states to reconsider integration paths, given the global state of affairs. The proposed article shows that the European Union, being the most successful integration entity at the present stage of development of international relations, is facing challenges of integration unity that have long-term consequences for European cohesion and make EU leaders think about the challenges ahead to overcome them as they accumulated over the first two decades of the 21st century.
