The article studies the features of the organizational and economic mechanism for the development of regions of the Republic of Tajikistan, reveals its main elements and their composition, and substantiates the problems and tasks of regional management. It is noted that the region as an object of management is a complex economic system consisting of interconnected components. Each region, due to the uniqueness of its natural, economic and social conditions, has unique economic interests, which can be defined as the set of economic interests of the residents living on its territory. An organizational and economic mechanism for the development of the region is proposed, the directions and goals of public administration at the level of executive authorities are highlighted, and the main directions for the transformation of the regional management mechanism are formulated. The elements and principles of implementation of this mechanism are determined. The problems are substantiated and the tasks of regional management are presented.
