During the study, the opinions of domestic and foreign scientists were analyzed and controversial points of view on new types of legal liability were identified. The results of the study show that there is no clear and uniform criterion for distinguishing types of legal liability. Some scientists recognize legal responsibility as an independent branch of law, others reject it. Due to the fact that many legal relations are regulated by a certain legal branch, but by different types of liability, it is not allowed to assign one type of legal liability to a specific type of legal branch.
