The article dwells on the role of international political organizations in the political development of the Republic of Tajikistan. The prerequisites and motives of Tajikistan’s activities in the areas of its cooperation with international political organizations are analyzed. It was revealed that international political organizations played an important role in the political development of Tajikistan in various directions. International organizations are recognized as an important platform for self-presentation of Tajikistan at the international level. The normative role of international organizations is assessed as important in the political development of Tajikistan. The role of international political organizations in the process of democratization and strengthening its elements in Tajikistan, as well as in the process of peacemaking, post-conflict reconstruction, legitimization of political power, strengthening and development of civil society, ensuring stability, political and institutional reforms was also highly appreciated. It is noted that during the period of independence, Tajikistan’s cooperation with international political organizations changed under the influence of various temporary factors.
