The article dwells on the problem beset with socio-economic development of Tajikistan Republic. First of all, existing problems dealing with the economic sphere are canvassed. The main streamlines aimed at the country's development are examined in connection with the strategic goals specified in the National Development Strategy - bringing Tajikistan out of the communication impasse, ensuring energy independence, food security and accelerated industrialization. Designing on the premise of statistical data the author of the article adduces indicators to reduce poverty and improve the well-being of the country's population. It is underscored that important state documents are pointed out, the political course chosen correctly by the country’s leadership promoted socio-economic development. In his article the author conducts an analysis concerned with important economic indicators and makes adequate conclusions based on their results.
