The subject of theoretical research is the relationship between the state and civil society. It is noted that the problem of interaction between the state and civil society has always been under the close attention of scientists and thinkers of different times. Based on the analysis of various theories, the models and features of interaction between the state and civil society are determined. It is noted that a democratic political system is a necessary condition for harmonious cooperation between the state and civil society.The formation of civil society in Tajikistan, the development of relations between the state and civil society in the country during the years of independence, cooperation between the state and civil society is recognized as an important condition for ensuring socio-political stability and sustainable development of society.
