The article deals with the problem of correlation of such processes as digitalization of economy and economic security ensuring. A direct interdependence of the dynamics of indicators of economic security and digitalization is revealed being based on the analysis of statistical data for 135 countries of the world. It is concluded that introduction of digital technologies can be quite effective only when a certain level of economic security is achieved. Based on the analysis of the features of mutual influence of indicators over one another threshold values are proposed for economic security indicators in the context of digital transformation. Recommendations on the transition of the Republic of Tajikistan to digital economy are given with taking into account the current level of economic security in the country. It is noted that an attempt to prematurely transition to digital economy can provoke an increase of threats to economic security.
