The factors slowing down the process of digital transformation of economy or contributing into its acceleration are considered. A conclusion diversity of such factors, variety and multiple streamlines of their impact is made, and a method for their classification respective of the sphere of influence is proposed. The analysis of the main indicators characterizing the level of digitalization in the Republic of Tajikistan is carried out. The conclusion about an extremely low level of digitalization and the presence of many constraining factors in the country’s economy is made. The main reasons for technological backwardness of the republic are a high level of corruption and bureaucratization, low availability of the Internet, as well as a lack of qualified home specialists capable of promoting a production of innovations. The main constraining and stimulating factors of digitalization of the Tajik economy are highlighted on this basis. The author gives recommendations on taking measures to reduce the influence of constraining factors and to increase an impact of stimulating factors.
