China-Russia cross-border e-commerce development status and swot-analysis

Abstract

As the Russian market of e-commerce has been developing rapidly and China renders a political support to crossborder e-commerce, this type of trade has become a new model of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries. As far as Chinese companies engaged in e-commerce accelerate the unfolding of their market in Russia, European, American and Russia companies have been evolving in the same tempos. At the same time Russian logistic and poyable systems are imperfect, custom’s framing of cargoes is beset with difficulties that entails grave trials for cross-border companies of e-commerce in China. China should promote a deepened development of cross-border e-commerce between itself and Russia by dint of such measures as consolidation of cooperation, standardization of trade order, creation of big logistic channels and accelerated training of personnel. The objective of the article is an assessment of the state of development of cross-border e-commerce in China and Russia. The method of research is a complex SWOT-analysis of factors influencing a development of cross-border electronic trade in China and Russia. The results of the research: there has been elaborated a complex of recommendations on a change of a business-model for Chines companies engaged in e-commerce; the competitiveness being bound to be rosen.
