The article dwells on the issues of regional economic integration at international level; integrational groups created between different countries being taken as an example. Major factors swaying over international economic integration both at regional and international levels of development are determined. The role of integrational groups for the economy of developed and developing groups is cleared out. The author has analyzed the biggest integrational groups at different stages of their development and in different spheres of activities connected with political and economic directions. She comes to the conclusion that the peculiarities of integrational processes occurring in CIS countries are associated with formation and retainment of their self-sufficient statehood; the fact being intensified with the influence of external factors concerned with regional economic integration upon them.
