The author conducted a situational analysis of Sughd viloyat economy. He elaborated and suggested the system of strategic guidelines of a development of the region on the basis of which one can manage with its economic development. For a determination of strategic guidelines the author suggests using the methodology of strategic management, in particular, modified SWOT-analysis. Proceeding from theoretical and practical elaborations of foreign, in particular, Russian researchers in the field of strategic management, he elicited the principal stages of determination concerned with strategic guidelines of regional development. On their strategiy guidelines of regional development are formed. The system of strategic guidelines of Sughd viloyat economy development is formulated in the article. It includes strategic guidelines which will provide a sustainable development of viloyat economy.
